The Respite Victoria website has been established as part of the Victorian Department of Human Services initiative to improve access to information about respite for carers and people with a disability. It is intended as a guide to the respite services that are available, to give an idea of the variety of respite options, and to assist you to choose the services which best meet your needs.

Respite Victoria is a central portal to the eight regional disability websites. These eight websites are managed by a number of agencies across Victoria. Details of these managing agencies can be found on each regional website. In the case of Respite North and West, Respite Connections has the responsibility for developing, updating and maintaining the Respite North and West website, while Carer Links North has the responsibility for updating and maintaining the Respite Finder.

The Respite Victoria website is managed and updated by Alfred Health Carer Services. Many of the services listed have eligibility requirements and waiting lists which have been indicated where possible. Please contact individual agencies directly to further discuss what they offer.

Although due care is taken to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the information, none of the managing agencies is responsible for the accuracy of the information or for any errors or omissions in these websites, however caused. Nothing within these websites constitutes professional advice. Information is provided on the basis that all persons accessing these websites undertake responsibility for assessing the relevance and accuracy of their content.

A reference to a service or agency on these websites is not an endorsement of the service or agency by any of the agencies managing these websites.
